Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has recently made headlines by accusing his ex-lover, Queen Dami, of hindering his chances of winning a Grammy Award. In an interview with media personality Daddy Freeze, Portable suggested a spiritual dimension to their breakup, revealing that he sought divine intervention through ‘ifa’—a spiritual practice aimed at resolving misfortunes. He asserts that shortly after this prayer, Queen Dami departed from his life, implying a connection between her departure and his stagnant career prospects.
Stating, “She is one of the reasons I don’t have a Grammy award, considering how much effort I put into my music,” Portable expressed frustration regarding her perceived infidelity during their relationship. He attributed his lack of success in the music industry, particularly the coveted Grammy accolade, to the alleged disloyalty of his partner, asserting that faithful women typically bring him good fortune, while unfaithfulness leads to setbacks.

Nollywood actress Mary Njoku has recently ignited a debate regarding the necessity of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination for university admissions in Nigeria. In a statement posted on her Instagram story, Njoku questioned the need for JAMB and post-UTME, arguing that the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) should be sufficient proof of a candidate’s completion of secondary education.

South African sensation Tyla is poised to make history as the first African personality to host the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards. Organizers announced the Grammy-winning artist as the host of the 2025 edition, scheduled to air live on June 21st from the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California.
Beyond hosting duties, Tyla has also secured two nominations: Favourite Global Music Star and Favourite Music Collaboration for “Show Me Love” with WizTheMc, and “bees & honey.”

Early Thursday morning, American musician Chris Brown was taken into custody at The Lowry Hotel in Manchester by officers from the Metropolitan Police. The arrest, occurring shortly after 2:00 AM, is connected to an alleged assault on music producer Abe Diaw at Tape nightclub in London’s Mayfair district on February 19, 2023.
