Big Brother Naija housemate Isabella recently shared a poignant anecdote regarding her son, revealing the values she has instilled in him. During a conversation with fellow housemate Kola, Isabella disclosed that she explicitly told her 14-year-old son that she “would be disappointed” if he were to treat women as she has been treated by men.

The 29-year-old, who became a mother at 15, emphasized the importance of respect, care, and protection in her son’s interactions with women. Isabella’s perspective is shaped by her own experiences, which she describes as “traumatic.” She has recounted instances of heartbreak and physical harm stemming from relationships with men.

Notably, Isabella was romantically involved with Kayikunmi during his time in the Big Brother house. However, following his eviction, she expressed a lack of longing for him, citing the discovery of disparaging remarks he had made about her. Isabella’s commitment to fostering respectful behavior in her son underscores the enduring impact of her past experiences and her hope for a future where women are treated with dignity and consideration.

Veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie has described Chinua Achebe’s 1958 novel, Things Fall Apart, as the greatest African book ever written.

Speaking in a recent interview, Edochie said the novel’s enduring popularity stems from its authentic portrayal of African life and history. He noted that although several African writers have since explored similar themes, none has matched the strength and influence of Achebe’s work.

Edochie urged African writers and creatives to tell their own stories, describing this as their greatest advantage on the global stage. He also expressed concern that foreign cultural influences were overshadowing African talent and identity.
