Nigerian singer Adewale Mayowa Emmanuel, popularly known as Mayorkun, has stated that he intends to conduct a DNA test before accepting responsibility for any child born to him.

The “Body Cheche” crooner made the disclosure during a recent episode of the In My Opinion podcast. He revealed that he had informed his girlfriend of his plans to sign a prenuptial agreement before marriage and request a DNA test whenever she gives birth.

According to Mayorkun, his girlfriend was unhappy with the proposal, but he remains determined to proceed with it. He explained that the measures were intended to provide certainty regarding paternity.

“I told my girlfriend we’d have to do a prenup and DNA test when she gives me a child, just to be sure. She got upset,” he said.

Mayorkun added that he had considered conducting the test without informing her, promising to disclose the result if the child were not biologically his.

DNA testing has gained increasing attention in Nigeria amid concerns about alleged paternity fraud. Several public figures have also encouraged men to verify the paternity of their children before assuming parental responsibility.
