Denmark-based showbiz entrepreneur, author, and philanthropist Chief Amb. Delight Benson, popularly known as Queen PhinaDon, hosted members of her events and production management team, as well as other associates, to an evening of relaxation and camaraderie in Lagos.

The gathering, held on Saturday, October 17, at the upscale De Toprano Lounge in Ikeja, provided an opportunity for Queen PhinaDon to reconnect with her colleagues and spend quality time with her team. As the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of PDMI Solutions, she used the occasion to appreciate the contributions of those supporting her growing entertainment and media ventures.

Queen PhinaDon is also the Founder of the Phinadon Humanitarian Awards and Phinadon Magazine. She arrived in Nigeria a few days earlier from her base in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The celebrity author recently launched her two books, My Last Journey to Nigeria and Unseen Untold, in Copenhagen on July 4, 2026. Both publications have further strengthened her profile as a creative entrepreneur with interests spanning entertainment, publishing, humanitarian initiatives, and event management.

Despite her return to Nigeria, Queen PhinaDon has yet to confirm whether she will host a reading and signing session, titled “Meet the Author,” for her fans and readers in Lagos. Veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie has described Chinua Achebe’s 1958 novel, Things Fall Apart, as the greatest African book ever written.

Speaking in a recent interview, Edochie said the novel’s enduring popularity stems from its authentic portrayal of African life and history. He noted that although several African writers have since explored similar themes, none has matched the strength and influence of Achebe’s work.

Edochie urged African writers and creatives to tell their own stories, describing this as their greatest advantage on the global stage. He also expressed concern that foreign cultural influences were overshadowing African talent and identity.
