The 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, has reaffirmed his readiness to contest the 2027 elections, declaring that no amount of political resistance will stop him from participating.
Speaking on Saturday in Uyo during the OBIDIENT Conference and Official Declaration for ADC with the theme “Activating the PO Effect in ADC,” Obi said he had it on good authority that the federal government does not want him to contest, but vowed to proceed regardless.
“Nigeria Must Get It Right in 2027”
Obi urged Nigerians to join hands to rescue the country, warning that future generations would bear the consequences of decades of poor governance.
He criticized the current administration for accumulating more loans than any previous government, noting that most of the debts would be repaid between 2045 and 2050, long after those responsible had left office.
He emphasized that election results must be transmitted online in real time in 2027, insisting that transparency is non-negotiable.
Focus on Education, Health, and Anti-Corruption
Obi pledged that his administration would prioritize education and healthcare, describing them as the foundation of national development.
He said that intentional investment in human capital would help lift millions out of poverty and reduce crime.
He added that corruption would reduce by 60 percent if leaders and their families stayed away from corrupt practices.
OBIDIENT Movement Mobilizes for 2027
Dr. Tanko Yunusa, the worldwide coordinator of the OBIDIENT Movement, called on Nigerians to mobilize across the country for the 2027 general elections.
He urged supporters to channel their energy into the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as the new platform for transformation and victory.
Similarly, Dr. Ben Smith, the Akwa Ibom State Coordinator of the OBIDIENT Movement, appealed for unity among members, warning that internal divisions could derail the dream of a new Nigeria.
