NYSCRegistrationCrisis as prospective corps members face major technical issues accessing the NYSC online registration portal for Batch C, leaving many unable to complete their pre-deployment process.
NYSCRegistrationCrisis has hit the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) registration process as prospective corps members (PCMs) continue to face severe difficulties accessing or completing their pre-deployment registration on the NYSC online portal since Tuesday.
The online registration, which is mandatory for all NYSC applicants, involves creating a profile, receiving a verification link via email, and proceeding to an accredited registration agent for data capturing. However, the process has been marred by persistent server errors and inaccessibility.
Registration Challenges
The NYSC opened its Batch C registration portal on Tuesday, with the process scheduled to close on Sunday. But since the launch, many eligible graduates have been unable to register successfully.
Others reported that even when the portal loads, it becomes unresponsive after a few seconds, displaying messages such as “The service is unavailable.”
On the first day of registration, several users waited hours to receive verification links, while others never got theirs. In the following days, the portal became completely inaccessible, with no official resolution from the NYSC.
Frustration on Social Media
The issue has sparked widespread frustration among PCMs, many of whom have taken to social media to express their concerns and tag NYSC officials.
On X (formerly Twitter), user @Ijay63887193 shared a screenshot of an “internal server error” message, writing, “If I perish, I perish.”
Another user, @ritarock_ibk, lamented that the problem had persisted for days:
The handle @NYSC360, known for posting NYSC-related updates, criticized the management’s silence:
Silence from NYSC Authorities
Efforts to reach Caroline Embu, NYSC’s Director of Information and Public Relations, were unsuccessful as she did not respond to calls or messages. At press time, the NYSC had not issued any official statement addressing the cause of the technical issues or the steps being taken to resolve them.
With the registration deadline approaching, many PCMs fear they may miss out on Batch C mobilization if the portal remains inaccessible.
