The Board of Trustees (BoT) and National Working Committee (NWC) of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) led by Nafiu Bala Gombe have warned the David Mark-led NWC to cease using the party’s name, logo, and bank accounts for any purpose.

In a statement signed by National Chairman Nafi’u Bala Gombe and BoT Secretary Rufus Ikanmi, the faction accused the Mark-led group of unauthorised use of party identity and warned that such actions would attract legal consequences.

Warning to INEC, Banks, and Financial Institutions

The Gombe-led ADC also cautioned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and all Deposit Money Banks to cease transactions or engagements with individuals claiming to represent the party without proper authorisation.

The faction said it had issued a formal notice to financial institutions instructing them to suspend all activities related to the party’s accounts until the leadership dispute is resolved.

ADC Leadership Dispute Deepens

The Gombe faction, which claims to be the original leadership of the ADC, accused the Mark-led group of acting outside the party’s constitution.

It also stated that Abdullahi, a member of the rival faction, must register properly at his political ward in Kwara State if he wishes to become a legitimate member of the ADC.

The faction vowed to protect the party’s identity and assets, warning that any further impersonation or financial dealings would be prosecuted under relevant laws.

The Nigeria Police Command in Benue State has dismissed reports alleging that Mobile Police personnel were withdrawn from Ayilamo community in Logo Local Government Area.

In a statement issued by the Command’s spokesperson, DSP Orchia Aondogwu, the report was described as unfounded and baseless. He stated that Mobile Police personnel remained deployed in Ayilamo alongside the Divisional Police team and other tactical units.
