Quick Summary:
GandujeSupportsTinubu2027 as former APC chairman Abdullahi Ganduje says no southern politician is better suited to lead Nigeria beyond 2027 than President Bola Tinubu, insisting the North will support his re-election.

Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has declared that no politician from Southern Nigeria is better positioned to lead the country beyond 2027 than President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Ganduje made the statement in Abuja while hosting a delegation of youth leaders from Northern Nigeria, representing all 19 northern states.

He dismissed claims that the North would oppose Tinubu’s re-election bid, describing such speculation as misguided and baseless.

“North Will Not Abandon Tinubu”

Ganduje cautioned critics against assuming that Northern voters would shift their support to another candidate in the 2027 presidential election.

He emphasized that Tinubu’s political experience and democratic credentials make him uniquely qualified to continue leading the country.

Tinubu’s Political Legacy Highlighted

According to Ganduje, President Tinubu possesses rare political credentials that distinguish him from other leaders, noting that Nigeria is fortunate to have a president whose entire life has been shaped by political engagement and democratic struggle.

He recalled Tinubu’s sacrifices during the military era, including his exile for democracy, describing him as a true democrat who fought for Nigeria’s political freedom.

Reference to Power Rotation Agreement

Ganduje also referred to a political understanding reached before the election of former President Muhammadu Buhari, which, according to him, ensured that power would return to the South after eight years of northern leadership.

He said Tinubu’s administration has already introduced bold reforms aimed at improving socioeconomic development and national stability.

The Nigeria Police Command in Benue State has dismissed reports alleging that Mobile Police personnel were withdrawn from Ayilamo community in Logo Local Government Area.

In a statement issued by the Command’s spokesperson, DSP Orchia Aondogwu, the report was described as unfounded and baseless. He stated that Mobile Police personnel remained deployed in Ayilamo alongside the Divisional Police team and other tactical units.

Aondogwu also said additional military personnel had been deployed to reinforce security in the area, urging the public to disregard the report.

However, the traditional ruler of Ayilamo, Mue Ter, Chief Torkoer Samuel, contradicted the police account. He claimed that the Mobile Police personnel left the community on Wednesday with their equipment and Armoured Personnel Carriers.

The conflicting accounts have raised questions about the current security situation in Ayilamo and the extent of military presence in the community.
