The insurgents launched the attack on Saturday evening, October 25, 2025, at about 6:15 p.m., through the Flatari axis of Gamboru, but their attempt was swiftly foiled by the troops’ superior firepower, forcing the terrorists to retreat after a brief exchange of gunfire.
Attack Repelled Without Casualties
According to military sources, no casualties were recorded during the encounter. Troops have since intensified pursuit operations to track down the fleeing insurgents.
Calm has since returned to Gamboru Ngala, with residents commending the vigilance and prompt response of the military in preventing what could have been a devastating attack.

The successful defense in Gamboru Ngala comes amid a series of coordinated military operations across multiple regions of the country aimed at neutralizing terrorist threats and dismantling criminal networks.
According to a statement by Lieutenant Colonel Appolonia Anele, Acting Director of Army Public Relations, the operations were conducted simultaneously in the Northeast, North Central, Northwest, and South-South regions as part of ongoing efforts to rid the nation of insurgents, kidnappers, and armed groups.
