NAFDAC Closes Warehouse in Kaduna for Housing Expired Products Worth N75 Million.

In a significant enforcement action, the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has shut down a warehouse in Kaduna, identified as Amanat.com, which was found to be storing expired food and cosmetic products valued at approximately N75 million. The facility is located on PP2A Bayajidda Street, near Kano Road and New Ogbomosho Road.
The State Director of Investigation and Enforcement at NAFDAC, Shaba Muhammed, announced the closure in a statement released on Tuesday. The agency’s intervention was prompted by a tip-off from a vigilant member of the public. Following a thorough surveillance operation, NAFDAC’s investigation team uncovered a substantial quantity of expired items, including biscuits, dairy milk, vegetable oil, soft drinks, and detergents. Alarmingly, workers were observed transferring expired biscuits from their original packaging into sacks during the operation.
In connection with this illicit activity, the Managing Director of the warehouse has been apprehended for questioning. Muhammed emphasized that stringent regulatory sanctions would be enforced upon the completion of the investigation, serving as a warning to others engaged in similar unlawful practices.
In light of this incident, Muhammed urged consumers to exercise vigilance when purchasing regulated products and to report any suspicious items to the nearest NAFDAC office. He also encouraged the public to report any fraudulent activities to the agency, reinforcing the commitment to safeguarding public health and safety.

Social Media Critic VeryDarkMan Condemns Lavish Car Purchases by Nigerian Music Stars.

Controversial social media personality VeryDarkMan has publicly criticized prominent Nigerian musicians Burna Boy, Davido, and Wizkid for their recent acquisitions of expensive vehicles. This censure comes amidst growing economic hardship in Nigeria, raising questions about the musicians’ sensitivity to the struggles of their fanbase and the broader community.
The controversy erupted following Burna Boy’s purchase of a N3.5 billion McLaren Sienna, making him the first owner of this model in Africa. Shortly after, reports surfaced of Davido acquiring a 2026 Mercedes Maybach SL 680 for N1.2 billion. These purchases follow Wizkid’s reported acquisition of a N1.7 billion car a few months prior.
In a viral Instagram video, VeryDarkMan, known for his critical commentary, questioned the timing and optics of these purchases. He specifically challenged Davido, with whom he claims a personal connection, to demonstrate tangible contributions to his home state of Osun and to Nigeria as a whole. VeryDarkMan argued that these artists, having benefited significantly from Nigeria and their fans, have a responsibility to contribute to the nation’s growth and the well-being of their supporters. The critic’s remarks have ignited a debate about wealth display and social responsibility among Nigeria’s elite.
