In a recent Big Brother Naija house conversation, housemate Thelma Lawson admitted to initially misjudging colleague Imisi’s religious beliefs based on her attire and makeup choices. The revelation occurred during a casual discussion in the kitchen following the Saturday night festivities, involving Thelma, Imisi, and Kaybobo.

Thelma confessed, “Imisi you be Christian? The kain make up when you dey do, I think say you be traditional worshiper,” sparking laughter among the trio. Imisi, a member of the Celestial Church of Christ, clarified that she is indeed a Christian. She further highlighted her faith by referencing social media posts featuring herself in the white garments associated with her religious practice.

This exchange serves as a reminder of the potential for misinterpretations stemming from outward appearances. Thelma’s assumption underscores the importance of avoiding generalizations and seeking clarification before forming opinions about individuals’ beliefs or practices.

Veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie has described Chinua Achebe’s 1958 novel, Things Fall Apart, as the greatest African book ever written.

Speaking in a recent interview, Edochie said the novel’s enduring popularity stems from its authentic portrayal of African life and history. He noted that although several African writers have since explored similar themes, none has matched the strength and influence of Achebe’s work.

Edochie urged African writers and creatives to tell their own stories, describing this as their greatest advantage on the global stage. He also expressed concern that foreign cultural influences were overshadowing African talent and identity.
