In a striking assertion, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) manager Luis Enrique has stated that his team is “better in attack and defence” following the departure of star forward Kylian Mbappé to Real Madrid last summer. This statement comes after a successful tenure for Mbappé at the Ligue 1 champions, during which he became one of the most prolific players in world football.
Enrique, who had previously benched the 26-year-old on multiple occasions last season, believes that the team has risen to the challenge presented by Mbappé’s absence. “I was very brave last season when I told you that we would have a better team in attack and defense,” he remarked, emphasizing that the statistical evidence supports his claim.

Enrique expressed a preference for a collective approach to scoring, stating, “Rather than having a player who scores 40 goals, I wanted players who all score a lot.”
