Davido declined, stating that his wife, Chioma, would disapprove. “No, my wife will kill me,” he quipped, adding, “I can’t follow anyone, I only follow my wife,” eliciting laughter from the audience. Nigerian singer Ayra Starr has reached a new milestone, becoming the first African artist to receive a Latin Diamond certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). This achievement is for her collaboration with Rvssian and Rauw Alejandro on the hit song “Santa,” which has surpassed 35 million streams. Starr joins Rema, whose song ‘Bubalu’ is certified Platinum, as the only African artists with RIAA Latin certifications. “Santa” has also achieved multiple Platinum certifications in Spain and Mexico, topping the charts in Spain and reaching No. 2 in Colombia, Ecuador, and Central America. This success marks a significant moment for African music on the global stage.
