Nigerian streamer and content creator Peller has criticised individuals demanding a DNA test to confirm the paternity of his child with Jarvis.

In a heated response, Peller dismissed the calls, insisting that Jarvis, who is reportedly carrying his child, should not be subjected to such demands. He also questioned why some people were so concerned about his personal affairs, making controversial remarks about their mothers and sisters.

His comments have further fuelled public discussion surrounding the couple’s relationship and pregnancy.

Afrobeats singer Austine Kelechi, popularly known as Tekno Miles, has defended the controversial “brain-rot content” trend, also referred to as the Olodo Uprising.

Speaking during a recent interview with Yanga FM Lagos, the Pana crooner argued that intellectual content no longer appeals to many Nigerians. According to him, comedy and entertainment have never been primarily about intelligence but about enjoyment and amusement.

Tekno cited Nollywood comedy legends Nkem Owoh, popularly known as Osuofia, and the late John Okafor, known as Mr Ibu, as examples. He said audiences admired them for their goofy and entertaining performances rather than their intellectual abilities.

“Intellectual no dey work again. Wetin I go do with your intellect?” he said, adding that he could watch comedian Carter Efe for hours simply because his humorous behaviour was entertaining.

His comments have sparked renewed debate about the place of intellectual content in Nigeria’s rapidly evolving entertainment industry.

American model and television personality Amber Rose has said she no longer identifies as a feminist, explaining that her views have evolved with age and motherhood.

Speaking about her perspective, Rose said having sons had helped her consider gender issues from a broader viewpoint. “As I’ve gotten older and now have sons, I’m no longer a feminist. I still believe in girl power, but I see both sides now,” she said.

Rose clarified that she continues to support women’s empowerment, body positivity and the advancement of women. However, her comments have prompted debate online, with some users criticizing her decision to distance herself from feminism, while others argued that raising sons may have influenced her outlook.

Some commentators welcomed her position, suggesting that motherhood had given her a more balanced perspective. Others claimed that she misunderstood feminism, which they described as advocating equality between men and women rather than hostility toward men.

Rose’s remarks have therefore reignited broader discussions about feminism, gender equality and how personal experiences can shape public views.
