Quick Summary:
Tehran confirms the execution of two men convicted of collaborating with Israeli intelligence agency Mossad, amid ongoing tensions between Iran and Israel.

The Iranian judiciary has confirmed the execution of two individuals accused of collaborating with Israeli intelligence, marking the latest development in the country’s ongoing campaign against alleged espionage networks.

According to an official statement released on April 20, 2026, the two men were convicted on espionage charges linked to Mossad and found guilty of working with what authorities described as a hostile intelligence network operating within Iran.

Convictions Upheld By Supreme Court

Judicial officials stated that the suspects had been under investigation for activities deemed detrimental to national security. Their death sentences were upheld by the Supreme Court before being carried out.

While the judiciary confirmed the executions, it did not disclose specific details regarding the time or location of the enforcement.

Iran’s Crackdown On Foreign Intelligence

Iranian authorities said the case forms part of broader efforts to counter and dismantle foreign intelligence operations within the country’s borders.

The judiciary emphasized that the executions demonstrate Iran’s resolve to protect national sovereignty and prevent infiltration by external actors.

No Independent Confirmation

There has been no independent verification of the allegations, and Israeli officials have not issued any immediate response to the development.

The incident underscores the persistent strain in Iran-Israel relations, with Tehran frequently announcing the discovery of alleged espionage networks linked to Israeli operatives.

The Nigeria Police Command in Benue State has dismissed reports alleging that Mobile Police personnel were withdrawn from Ayilamo community in Logo Local Government Area.

In a statement issued by the Command’s spokesperson, DSP Orchia Aondogwu, the report was described as unfounded and baseless. He stated that Mobile Police personnel remained deployed in Ayilamo alongside the Divisional Police team and other tactical units.
