Drama is brewing in the Big Brother Naija house as housemate James Ayomide, also known as Jason Jae, has made his feelings for fellow housemate Dede known, expressing his desire for a unique and special connection.

In a recent conversation in the garden, Jason Jae confessed his admiration for Dede, emphasizing that he doesn’t want to lump her in with the other housemates. He directly asked Dede if she felt their bond was special, leaving her visibly taken aback. Dede addressed a prior comment that seemed to have created tension, assuring Jason that it was just a joke made in the heat of the moment and not meant to be taken seriously.

Jason Jae: “I do not want to be one of your many boys in the house, you are special and I won’t categorize you with everyone. I’ve always said it and I’ve always shown it as well. I asked you a question. Do you think what we have is special? And if yes, what makes it special?”

Dede: “Is that not a deep question to ask?”

Jason Jae: “No it is important at this point like right now.”

Dede: “I still didn’t mean what I said yesterday. It was just a joke that came to my head and just thought out loud. It was meant to be funny.”

The unfolding situation has ignited a flurry of reactions from viewers:

  • @MAT commented, “People thought Kola was crazy or doing too much, now here is Jason also going through it. Just that he is telling her directly but Kola was talking about it with his friends.”
  • @OGA ADE wrote, “Why does Jason want to be special, isn’t he sleeping on Sultana’s bed?”
  • @Ify&x said, “I thought he likes Sultana. Ah Dede you do this one.”
  • @darksingirl tweeted, “Is it so difficult for this men to be friends with her?”
  • @TOLA reacted, “Omo can they just leave her omg. Why can’t some men just enjoy being friends with a lady? Don’t ask what are we or what makes us different. Just enjoy friendship with a babe and call it a day.”
  • @BERRY tweeted, “Why are these guys behaving like they have never seen a fine girl before? Wtf.”

The online commentary reveals a mix of amusement, concern, and frustration, with many questioning Jason Jae’s approach and wondering why male housemates seem to struggle with simply being friends with Dede. The situation is further complicated by the mention of Sultana, adding another layer of intrigue to the unfolding relationships within the Big Brother house. Is Jason Jae genuinely seeking a deeper connection with Dede, or is this simply another case of Big Brother romance gone awry? Only time will tell. Stay tuned to PhinaDon Magazine for more updates on this developing story.

Veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie has described Chinua Achebe’s 1958 novel, Things Fall Apart, as the greatest African book ever written.

Speaking in a recent interview, Edochie said the novel’s enduring popularity stems from its authentic portrayal of African life and history. He noted that although several African writers have since explored similar themes, none has matched the strength and influence of Achebe’s work.

Edochie urged African writers and creatives to tell their own stories, describing this as their greatest advantage on the global stage. He also expressed concern that foreign cultural influences were overshadowing African talent and identity.

Reflecting on his own experience, the actor recalled being given Western names such as Elvis Presley and John Wayne before choosing the culturally significant name “Uwadiegwu.”
