Recent reports circulating on social media, notably from influencer Peller, suggest that Nigerian dancer Poco Lee has been released from custody in the United Kingdom. According to Peller’s livestream, the woman who initiated the legal proceedings against Poco Lee has allegedly withdrawn her case, leading to his release.

Peller stated, “Yes o guys, Poco Lee is out. They talk say that girl that sue Poco Lee say the girl e run away from the case, say e leave the case. God go bless the girl, na God go bless am, is a good person.” He further elaborated that this withdrawal prompted the UK legal system to release the dancer.

Abuja, Nigeria – The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has levied a fine of N15 million against RwandAir for failing to adhere to consumer protection regulations. This action was confirmed by Michael Achimugu, Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the NCAA, via a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday.

The fine stems from RwandAir’s failure to resolve a passenger’s baggage complaint within the mandated timeframe. Achimugu stated, “The NCAA has sanctioned RwandAir for consumer protection-related infractions. The airline has been fined a sum of fifteen million naira for its failure to resolve a baggage issue within the stipulated timeframe.”

In addition to the monetary penalty, the NCAA has directed RwandAir to replace the damaged baggage and compensate the affected passenger with $170. This directive aligns with the provisions outlined in Part 19 of the NCAA Regulations 2023.

The agency has also issued a stern warning to all airlines, emphasizing that non-compliance with the timeframe for processing passenger refunds, as stipulated in Part 19 of the NCAA Regulations 2023, will result in sanctions. This recent enforcement action follows similar measures taken in February 2025, when five domestic airlines were penalized for various infractions, underscoring the NCAA’s commitment to upholding consumer rights within the aviation sector.

The Association of Resident Doctors (ARD) at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Abeokuta, has commenced a five-day warning strike, effective Thursday at 12:30 p.m. This decisive action follows an assault on a doctor and persistent, unresolved security challenges within the hospital premises.

The ARD, following an Emergency General Meeting, issued a communique signed by its President, Dr. Olanipekun Quadri, and General Secretary, Dr. Olorunfemi Solomon. The association emphasized that the recent assault is indicative of a broader pattern of aggression and insecurity faced by medical professionals at the facility.

Key unresolved issues contributing to the strike include inadequate compensation for house officers who suffered personal losses during a theft, poor lighting in areas designated for night duties, and critically, porous security in the Emergency Treatment Room (ETR). The ARD highlights the ETR’s susceptibility to unauthorized access, exposing staff to confrontation. Furthermore, the association noted the insufficient deployment of security personnel, including armed guards, in strategic locations.

The ARD has put forth several demands to rectify the situation, including immediate compensation for affected house officers, deployment of armed security personnel, enhanced security and access control at the ETR, and improved lighting. Additional demands encompass a public rebuttal of misinformation, clear admission and emergency protocols, relocation of payment points, CCTV installation, elimination of the ETR waiting area, and prompt prosecution of the individual responsible for the recent assault.

While open to dialogue, the ARD stresses that this warning strike does not supersede their previously issued 21-day ultimatum. The association urges hospital management to implement immediate, concrete measures to ensure the safety and well-being of healthcare workers, thereby safeguarding patient safety and ensuring the uninterrupted delivery of quality healthcare services.
