Mrs Tinubu recalled that President Tinubu declared a state of emergency on insecurity on November 26, 2026, in response to growing security concerns and global attention on attacks against Nigerian Christians.
She explained that the declaration led to massive recruitment and redeployment of security personnel across the country.
The First Lady added that 10,000 forest guards who were previously unarmed have now been authorized to carry weapons to secure forests used as hideouts by terrorists, bandits, and kidnappers.
Redeployment of Security Personnel
Mrs Tinubu also revealed that 11,566 police officers previously assigned to VIP protection duties have been recalled and redeployed to security hotspots across the country, including Plateau, Benue, and Taraba States.
