The Enugu State Police Command has announced the arrest of 52 suspects for various criminal offences between January 24 and January 30, 2026.
The development was contained in the weekly crime statistics released by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Daniel Ndukwe, on Saturday in Enugu.
According to Ndukwe, those arrested include three armed robbery suspects, 12 kidnapping suspects, three homicide suspects, two rape and defilement suspects, four suspected cultists, and 28 others linked to various crimes across the state.
Arms, Ammunition, and Stolen Vehicles Recovered
The police also recovered one firearm, 20 rounds of ammunition of different calibres, and six stolen vehicles during the operations.
He added that hard drugs and a significant quantity of weeds suspected to be Indian hemp were also recovered, reflecting the command’s intensified crackdown on drug-related crimes.
Police Attribute Success to Collaboration and Intelligence
Ndukwe credited the operational success to the commitment of police personnel, enhanced intelligence gathering, and effective collaboration with other security agencies and members of the public.
He reaffirmed the command’s determination to sustain the fight against crime and ensure public safety across Enugu State.
