A two-storey building collapsed on Wednesday evening at No. 4 Modupeola Street, near Mangoro Bus Stop in the Alimosho area of Lagos State, leaving one man seriously injured and five others rescued.
Incident Details
The collapse occurred around 6 p.m., sending panic across the neighborhood. While the immediate cause of the incident has not yet been determined, emergency responders swiftly mobilized to the scene.
Footage shared on social media showed operatives of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) coordinating rescue operations alongside other first responders.
Victim Rescued
One victim, a 44-year-old resident of Olabode Street in Alimosho, was trapped beneath the rubble. After hours of coordinated efforts, he was pulled out with multiple fractures and bruises.
He was immediately rushed to the Surgical Emergency Unit of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) by officials of the Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS).
According to the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, the victim was admitted in stable condition.

The Lagos State Government has ordered a full-scale investigation into the incident to determine the cause of the collapse and prevent future occurrences.
