Additionally, a noteworthy contingent from Africa, including delegations from Ghana, Senegal, Greece, Angola, Togo, and the Benin Republic, alongside the host nation, will enrich the competition.
The choice of Charterhouse Lagos as the host venue underscores the institution’s commitment to nurturing international sporting events and highlights Nigeria’s burgeoning status in the global sports landscape. This event will not only spotlight Nigeria’s organizational capabilities—having successfully hosted the African Championships in 2018 and 2020—but it will also serve to inspire and develop local fencing talent.
Adeyinka Samuel, President of the Nigeria Fencing Federation, expressed his gratitude for being selected to host this prestigious event, recognizing its importance for Nigeria’s global recognition. “Hosting the World Cup is a remarkable opportunity for any country in Africa, and we are proud to be the first in Sub-Saharan Africa to do so,” Samuel stated during a press conference at the Lagos Fencing Club.
