Seyi Law Praises President Tinubu’s Decision to Remove Fuel Subsidy

In a recent statement, renowned Nigerian actor and comedian Oluwaseyitan Aletile, popularly known as Seyi Law, commended President Bola Tinubu for the controversial decision to eliminate the fuel subsidy in Nigeria. While acknowledging that this policy shift has resulted in immediate hardships for many citizens, Seyi Law contended that it is ultimately a necessary step toward long-term benefits for the nation.
During his commentary, Seyi Law expressed his belief that the fuel subsidy should have been abolished much earlier, specifically citing the year 2012. He argued that had the subsidy been removed during the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan, when Tinubu’s political faction actively protested against it, the country would have already been liberated from the economic strain associated with the subsidy.
“Fuel subsidy should have been long gone. If it had gone in 2012 we would have gone through the pain process and by now we would have been healing,” Seyi Law remarked. He recalled his own involvement in the protests against the subsidy, noting that he was among the few celebrities to publicly oppose the subsidy system at that time.
Seyi Law highlighted the dire financial situation of the nation, referencing comments made by former Finance Minister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, who noted that the government was struggling to pay salaries and was borrowing to meet its financial obligations. This retrospective insight adds weight to Seyi Law’s assertion that the removal of the subsidy, despite its current challenges, is a crucial move towards economic reform and sustainability for Nigerians.

Stevenator Cites Family as Reason for Parting Ways with Asake

In a recent interview, Stephen Nana, popularly known as Stevenator, has shed light on his decision to step down as the manager of Nigerian music sensation, Asake. Stevenator, who managed the artist from 2022 to 2024, attributed his departure to the rapid growth of Asake’s career and, more importantly, his commitment to his family.
Stevenator expressed gratitude to Olamide, the head of YBNL record label, for entrusting him with the management of Asake. He recounted being approached by Olamide, a friend of over two decades, despite having no prior experience in artist management. The unprecedented and swift rise of Asake presented challenges, leaving little room for on-the-job learning.
However, the primary catalyst for Stevenator’s decision was his family. As a devoted husband and father, he found it increasingly difficult to balance the demands of managing a rapidly ascending star with his familial responsibilities. The extensive travel and time commitment required by Asake’s burgeoning career took a toll on his ability to be present for his wife and children.
Stevenator poignantly described the emotional impact of being away from his family for extended periods, citing an instance where his young son no longer recognized him. This realization underscored the need to prioritize his family. Acknowledging Asake’s escalating fame and the corresponding increase in managerial demands, Stevenator concluded that stepping down was the necessary course of action to reconcile his professional and personal life. His statement emphasizes the importance of family and personal well-being, even amidst professional success.

Daniel Etim-Effiong Reflects on Past “Womanizing” Behavior.

Nollywood actor Daniel Etim-Effiong recently opened up about a period in his life during which he engaged in what he describes as “womanizing.” In an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, the actor revealed that he explored romantic relationships with multiple women concurrently.
While hesitant to definitively label himself a “womanizer,” Etim-Effiong acknowledged that there was a time when his behavior aligned with the definition of a man who dates multiple women simultaneously. He characterized these experiences as valuable learning opportunities, explaining that they ultimately revealed that such behavior did not lead to the fulfillment he initially anticipated.
The actor emphasized the importance of understanding the potential long-term consequences of such a lifestyle, particularly regarding future relationships and marriage. He cautioned young people against developing habits that they would not want to sustain indefinitely. Etim-Effiong argued that difficulty committing to one person and a tendency to jump from relationship to relationship before marriage are unlikely to simply disappear upon entering matrimony. He warned that the lack of commitment “muscle” could lead to challenges in marriage, such as seeking attention or validation from others when faced with marital difficulties.
Etim-Effiong’s reflection serves as a cautionary tale, highlighting the potential pitfalls of a lifestyle characterized by multiple romantic entanglements and the importance of developing healthy relationship habits before marriage.
