Nollywood actor Godwin Nnadiekwe is currently receiving medical treatment for internal bleeding sustained during a recent film shoot. Nnadiekwe described the immediate aftermath of the incident, stating that the blow resulted in significant pain requiring immediate medical attention. He further claimed that the production team did not offer any assistance with the medical expenses incurred. In his social media posts, Nnadiekwe emphasized the importance of prioritizing safety on set, particularly in the absence of insurance policies and readily available first aid. He urged his colleagues to adhere strictly to the script and ensure that all physical actions are intentional and within the director’s vision.
“Just wanted to share an incident that happened on set a few days ago. This isn’t to call anyone out, but it’s a serious reminder to prioritise each other’s safety on set,” Nnadiekwe wrote. “During a scene, I received a kick to the chest from my colleague who wasn’t part of the script or directed by the director… It’s caused me serious pain.”
Following Nnadiekwe’s initial posts, his management team released a statement confirming that his condition had worsened and that he had been admitted to the hospital for emergency care. The statement read, “We regret to inform you that Actor Godwin Nnadiekwe was rushed to the hospital this evening. He is undergoing treatment for internal bleeding following an incident involving a kick on the chest during filming with his colleague Zubby Michael.” The management team assured the public that they are committed to providing Nnadiekwe with the best possible care and will provide timely updates.
