Veteran Nollywood actress Patience Ozokwo has endorsed Peter Obi ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections, citing the country’s abundant resources and persistent underdevelopment.
Speaking at a gathering organised under the banner “Celebrities for Peter Obi,” Ozokwo described Nigeria as a “spoiled child,” arguing that the nation had been richly endowed but had failed to maximise its potential.
“There is nothing God did not provide for us,” she said, adding that other countries would have achieved far greater progress with similar resources.
The actress also criticised the unequal distribution of wealth, noting that some Nigerians had accumulated enough for several generations while many citizens continued to struggle.
Ozokwo urged entertainers to use their public visibility and integrity responsibly, stressing their ability to influence national conversations. Her comments reflect growing calls among some public figures for political change ahead of the 2027 elections.
