Governor Makinde Pledges Support to Police in Oyo-Osun Boundary Dispute.

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has affirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the police force in addressing the ongoing boundary dispute between Oyo and Osun States. This pledge was made during a meeting with Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) Fred Ikokotu, the AIG in charge of Zone 11.

Recognizing the vital role of security in achieving progress, Governor Makinde emphasized that his government will prioritize the safety and security of its citizens and ensure peaceful co-existence with neighboring states. He lauded the Police for their dedication to maintaining peace and order, affirming Oyo State’s history of having committed service commanders.

Governor Makinde assured AIG Ikokotu of immediate support, stating that his administration is ready to provide the resources necessary to facilitate a lasting resolution to the border dispute. He emphasized the accessibility of his office and the Deputy Governor’s, encouraging open communication and collaboration to foster peace in the affected region.
