Billy Joel Postpones Tour Dates Following NPH Diagnosis
Beloved American musician Billy Joel has announced the postponement of his upcoming tour dates following a diagnosis of Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH). The announcement was made via the singer’s Instagram page on Friday.
NPH is a brain disorder characterized by an accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid in the skull, leading to pressure on the brain. According to a statement released by his management, the 76-year-old Joel has been experiencing worsening symptoms, including impaired vision, hearing, and balance. These symptoms reportedly intensified after a recent performance.
“Under his doctor’s instructions, Billy is undergoing specific physical therapy and has been advised to refrain from performing during this recovery period,” the statement read. Concerts in Europe and America, originally scheduled from April 26 to July 3, have been affected. Ticketholders will receive automatic refunds to their original payment methods.
