American rapper Yung Miami has publicly accused South African singer Tyla of stealing her unreleased song. The accusation surfaced after Tyla teased her upcoming single “Chanel” on social media.
Yung Miami claims she played her own unreleased track, also titled “Chanel,” for Tyla, suggesting the latter appropriated the concept. The rapper expressed disappointment, stating the similarity between the songs left her “emotionally downcast.” In response to a fan inquiry, Yung Miami confirmed she was indeed referring to Tyla.
This allegation has ignited discussions surrounding intellectual property theft and the relationship between African and African-American artists. As of now, Tyla has not responded to the accusations.
