Quick Summary:
Minister Nyesom Wike says Abuja’s completed bus and taxi terminals to commence operations soon after Federal Executive Council approval.
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has announced that the completed FCT Bus and Taxi Terminals will begin operations soon, following Federal Executive Council (FEC) approval.
Wike made the disclosure in Abuja on Friday after inspecting ongoing projects, including the Mabushi Bus Terminal Road, which provides access to the terminal.
He expressed delight that President Bola Tinubu and the FEC had approved the management of the Mabushi and Kugbo terminals under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement.
Operations To Begin Within Weeks
Wike explained that although the terminals were completed and inaugurated in 2025, operations could not start earlier because management approval exceeded ministerial authority.
Road Projects Near Completion
The minister expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work on the Mabushi Bus Terminal Road, which he said would be inaugurated to mark President Tinubu’s third anniversary.
He also commended progress on the Arterial Road N1, linking Wuye District to Ring Road II, expressing optimism that it would be completed and handed over before the end of the year.
