Waris Olayinka Akinwande, popularly known as Ola of Lagos, has explained why he continues to live in a rented apartment despite owning several houses. Speaking on The KK Show, the Nigerian influencer and entrepreneur revealed that he has never spent a night in any house purchased with his own money.
According to Ola, living in his own house might make him too comfortable and reduce his motivation to work harder. He therefore chooses to remain in rented accommodation, using the financial responsibility of paying rent as an incentive to pursue greater success.
Ola disclosed that he pays ₦50 million annually in rent. Although this expense is considerable, he views it as a source of discipline and determination. His decision reflects his belief that personal comfort can sometimes weaken ambition, while financial obligations can encourage continued effort.
His perspective highlights the importance of motivation in achieving success. By deliberately maintaining a demanding financial commitment, Ola believes he can remain focused, driven, and committed to expanding his achievements.
