Actor Michael Pitt, known for his performances in productions such as Boardwalk Empire, Dawson’s Creek, and Reptile, has been arrested in New York City on multiple charges. Court documents indicate that the arrest occurred on May 2nd in Brooklyn.

The charges against Mr. Pitt include two counts of first-degree sexual abuse, assault with a blunt object, third-degree sodomy, and second-degree strangulation. Mr. Pitt has pleaded not guilty to all charges. Bail was set at $100,000, which he has reportedly posted.

Mr. Pitt is scheduled to appear in court on June 17th. His attorney, Jason Goldman, released a statement to Variety asserting the claims are baseless and suspects the timing of the accusation.

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has reported significant progress in ongoing efforts to combat crime and insurgency throughout Nigeria. During a media briefing in Abuja on Thursday, Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Markus Kangye, detailed successful operations conducted throughout April.

A key achievement was the arrest of Buhari Umar, a notorious gunrunner and kidnap kingpin operating across Gombe, Bauchi, Plateau, and Kaduna States. This arrest represents a considerable blow to armed criminal networks in the region.
