Nigerian music superstar Tiwa Savage has made a candid revelation about her personal life, stating that she’s yet to experience true love at 44 years old. In a recent interview with Zeze Mills, the singer confessed that outside of the love she shares with her son, Jamil, she hasn’t found genuine romantic love.

Reflecting on past relationships, including her marriage, Tiwa Savage admitted that what she felt was likely infatuation rather than true love. “I don’t think I’ve experienced true love apart from my son. Because every time I look back at all my relationships, I’m like, nah, that wasn’t love. I was just infatuated. At that time I thought I was in love. I don’t think I experienced true love even when I was married,” she explained.

The “Somebody’s Son” singer expressed a sense of resignation, suggesting that perhaps true love simply isn’t in the cards for her. “Maybe love isn’t for me because I have tried over and over again so maybe love isn’t for me this lifetime,” she added.

Tiwa Savage was previously married to her former manager, Tunji Balogun, also known as Teebillz. The couple wed in 2013 but divorced in 2018 after attempts to reconcile proved unsuccessful. Their marriage produced one child, a son named Jamil.
