In the vibrant landscape of Nigerian music, collaborations often serve as pivotal moments for artists. This sentiment was eloquently expressed by Terry Alexandar Ejeh, renowned as Terry Apala, who recently shared his reflections on the addition of Grammy-winning artist Wizkid to the remix of “Apala Disco.”

Originally released in 2019, “Apala Disco” was a solo endeavor by DJ Tunez, the esteemed disc jockey for Wizkid. The track, rooted in the traditional Apala genre, has now evolved into a more dynamic composition with the inclusion of Wizkid and street-hop artist Seyi Vibez.

During an interview with media personality Quincy Jonze on Echo Room, Terry Apala articulated the profound impact of Wizkid’s contribution. He asserted that this collaboration possesses a public relations value exceeding 100 million Naira, highlighting Wizkid’s immense influence in the industry. Apala described the experience as a dream realized, noting that the partnership has significantly broadened his exposure on a global scale.

Terry Apala’s remarks underscore the transformative power of collaboration within the music industry and the ways in which established artists can elevate emerging talents. As the global audience continues to embrace Afrobeats, such collaborations will likely play a crucial role in shaping the future of the genre.

Her statement comes amidst recent controversy surrounding JAMB, particularly following widespread reports of mass failures in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME). While JAMB has admitted to errors and announced retakes for affected candidates, Njoku’s questioning highlights a deeper concern regarding the redundancy and potential inefficiencies within the current university admission process. The actress’s comments add fuel to an existing debate about the effectiveness and fairness of the JAMB examination in evaluating a student’s readiness for tertiary education.
