The Brotherhood of Cross and Star urges Tinubu and governors to embrace servant leadership.
In a recent address, the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star (BCS) urged President Bola Tinubu, state governors, and other leaders to adopt a servant leadership approach to effectively serve the Nigerian populace. This call, articulated by BCS Deputy Spokesman Archbishop Emmanuel Ekuri during a press briefing in Yola, emphasizes the importance of love for one’s fellow citizens and leading with the fear of God.
Archbishop Ekuri highlighted that the principles of servant leadership, compassion, and divine reverence—central tenets of the BCS founder Olumba Olumba Obu’s teachings—are essential for societal progress, particularly in these challenging times. He implored leaders to seek divine intervention for the myriad issues facing the nation, asserting that true peace cannot be found through human efforts alone but rather through a relationship with God.
The BCS’s press briefing in Yola was part of a series of events leading up to the celebration of Olumba Olumba Obu, which includes the 6th Annual Public Lecture in Port Harcourt on December 21, a Divine Manifestation ceremony in Calabar on December 23, and various charitable activities culminating in the CBS Art and Merit Award on December 31.
As Nigeria navigates its current challenges, the call for leaders to embody the virtues of servant leadership could serve as a beacon of hope, fostering a more compassionate and effective governance that prioritizes the well-being of its citizens.
