Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has reiterated the need for increased resources to address the ongoing insecurity plaguing the North Central region of Nigeria. Speaking on Channels Television’s “Politics Today,” Governor Sule emphasized that the military requires greater support in the form of technology, personnel, and crucially, improved communication infrastructure.

His comments follow escalating violence in Benue and Plateau states, with devastating attacks resulting in numerous fatalities and displacement. Governor Sule echoed Benue Governor Hyacinth Alia’s assertion that the perpetrators are non-Nigerians, noting linguistic differences among the Fulani ethnic group. He further highlighted the challenges in effectively monitoring Nigeria’s borders.

Governor Sule’s call underscores the urgency of bolstering military capabilities to effectively combat the escalating security crisis and protect vulnerable communities within the North Central region. The emphasis on improved technology and communication suggests a shift towards more intelligence-driven operations.
