Popular Nigerian music video director, TG Omori, recently shared insights into his professional journey, revealing a surprising turning point. Despite being a highly sought-after director for years, Omori disclosed that he only began realizing profits from his music video productions in 2023.
In an interactive session with fans on X, Omori responded to a question about budgeting and profitability by stating, “I only started making profits in 2023.” He further explained that he had been burdened by production debt for five years, a situation he managed by taking on more work to cover expenses. Ultimately, he cleared the debt through earnings generated by his personal brand and public persona.
Omori’s revelation sheds light on the financial challenges faced by creatives in the industry. It’s worth noting that in 2023, Davido revealed paying Omori N100 million for the “Jowo” music video, a payment Omori later confirmed. This highlights the scale of projects Omori undertakes, further emphasizing the significance of his recent attainment of profitability.

During a recent stop on his 5ive Tour in America, Nigerian Afrobeat sensation Davido addressed a request from a female fan with a humorous, yet firm, response. The fan, clad in revealing attire, implored the artist to follow her on Instagram. Davido declined, stating that his wife, Chioma, would disapprove. “No, my wife will kill me,” he quipped, adding, “I can’t follow anyone, I only follow my wife,” eliciting laughter from the audience. This incident underscores the artist’s commitment to his marriage, which was formalized in a lavish Lagos ceremony in June 2024.
