Operatives of the Oyo State Police Command have arrested a suspected ritualist found transporting human flesh inside a commercial bus along the Ogbomoso-Iseyin Road.
According to a statement released on Friday by the command’s Public Relations Officer, CSP Osifeso Adewale, the arrest was made during a routine stop-and-search operation on Wednesday. Officers discovered a disturbing quantity of human flesh concealed in the suspect’s hand luggage inside a white bus with registration number XA 551 IRG.
The Commissioner of Police, Femi Haruna, commended the officers for their vigilance and assured residents that the command remains committed to intelligence-led operations aimed at curbing crime across the state. He urged citizens to remain alert and report any suspicious activities promptly.
“If you notice anything unusual, please inform the police right away, and they will respond accordingly. Together, we can contribute to making Oyo State a safer place for everyone,” the statement emphasized.
This arrest comes shortly after another successful operation by the command, where officers intercepted a Toyota bus on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and recovered firearms, machetes, and live cartridges. These back-to-back operations highlight the police’s intensified efforts to combat violent crimes and ritual-related activities in the state.
