Popular Nollywood actor, Ime Bishop Umoh, known as Okon Lagos, has publicly urged the Federal Government to release Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
During a recent appearance on The Clarity Zone podcast, Umoh argued that Kanu’s release would serve the interest of peace and national reconciliation. He acknowledged the potential legal complexities but emphasized the moral imperative of pardoning Kanu.
Umoh reasoned that Kanu’s secessionist agitation stemmed from perceived marginalization of the Igbo people, characterizing his actions as emotionally driven. He stated, “It doesn’t need to make legal sense, but it makes moral common sense… It is morally right.”
