The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has cautioned Corps members against the detrimental use of social media platforms. This warning was issued by the Director General of the Scheme, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, during an address to the 2025 Batch ‘C’ Corps members at the NYSC Delta State Orientation Camp, Issele-Uku.
Brigadier General Nafiu emphasized that any Corps member found engaging in negative social media activities would face sanctions. He encouraged them to instead utilize social media to create content that positively promotes the NYSC and Nigeria’s image.
Furthermore, Corps members were cautioned against undertaking unauthorized journeys. The Director General also stressed the importance of adhering to instructions, respecting the cultural values of host communities, and responsible conduct at their primary assignments.
Mr. John Kwaghe, the NYSC Delta State Coordinator, reported that the current batch comprises 2,101 Corps members (944 male and 1,157 female). He affirmed that camp activities were proceeding smoothly, with commendable discipline exhibited by both officials and Corps members.
