Nigerian human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, has condemned the remand of social media personality Blord in Kuje Prison, describing it as no victory for legal brilliance.
Blord was remanded by a Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, for alleged impersonation of VeryDarkMan, forgery, false endorsement, breach of privacy, and identity theft.
The court ordered that he remain in custody for 26 days pending further proceedings.
‘Justice Must Not Be Weaponized’
Reacting in a Facebook post, Sowore criticized the handling of the case, accusing VeryDarkMan and his lawyer, Marshal D. F. Abubakar, of using the law to oppress Blord.
He revealed that he had asked Abubakar to withdraw from the case, insisting that justice must not be reduced to punishment or used as a tool of oppression.
Sowore added that he would work to ensure the case is discontinued and that Blord is released without delay.
