This call-up comes in preparation for the crucial 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda.

Collins stands out in the current squad as the only home-based player selected by caretaker coach Augustine Eguavoen, a testament to his impressive performances in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) this season. The Chelsea Supporters Trust (CST) has formally requested that the Premier League investigate a potential conflict of interest involving Chelsea co-owner, Todd Boehly, and the ticket resale website, Vivid Seats. The CST statement emphasizes that Vivid Seats actively lists Premier League tickets at inflated prices, directly contravening Chelsea FC’s ticketing policy and undermining efforts to combat ticket touting. The Trust deems Boehly’s association with the website a “breach of trust” and a “clear conflict of interest,” urging the Premier League to take action and initiate a thorough investigation into the matter. The league has yet to respond publicly to the CST’s request.
