In a significant legal development, American rapper Megan Thee Stallion has been granted a five-year restraining order against Tory Lanez, who is currently serving a ten-year prison sentence for shooting her in the feet following a party at Kylie Jenner’s residence in 2020.

On January 10, 2025, Megan appeared remotely via video link in a Los Angeles court to testify regarding her concerns for her safety. During her testimony, she expressed a profound fear that Lanez might attempt to harm her again, stating, “I feel like maybe he will shoot me again, and maybe this time I won’t make it.”

The court, recognizing the seriousness of her claims, granted the restraining order, which prohibits Lanez from contacting Megan during its duration. According to Rolling Stone’s senior reporter Nancy Dillon, Lanez’s attorney has asserted that the rapper “has no desire to communicate with the petitioner ever again.”

This ruling underscores the ongoing repercussions of the violent incident that occurred nearly five years ago and reflects the legal system’s commitment to addressing issues of domestic violence and harassment. Megan Thee Stallion’s testimony highlights the importance of ensuring safety and support for survivors of such traumatic experiences.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has publicly stated that hundreds of Chinese nationals are actively fighting alongside Russian forces in Ukraine. Speaking to allied military chiefs in Brussels on Friday, Zelensky accused Moscow of attempting to prolong the conflict by utilizing Chinese personnel.

This accusation follows earlier statements from Ukraine asserting the capture of two Chinese nationals fighting for Russia in the Donetsk region. While Russia has denied these claims, China has cautioned against making “irresponsible remarks” regarding the situation.

These developments further complicate the already protracted conflict, now entering its third year. The allegation of Chinese involvement introduces a new dimension to the geopolitical landscape and raises questions about the extent of international participation in the ongoing hostilities. The war has resulted in significant casualties on both sides, and ongoing efforts by the US and European nations aim to facilitate a peaceful resolution.
