May Edochie, entrepreneur and estranged wife of Nollywood actor Yul Edochie, has recently shared details of her initial meeting with him. In a recent podcast appearance, she revealed that their connection predates Yul’s rise to fame and their subsequent marriage.
Contrary to expectations of a glamorous or conventional meeting, May disclosed that their paths first crossed at a General Certificate Examination (GCE) center during her early university days. At the time, May had recently relocated from Lagos to pursue her degree at Enugu State University. Yul Edochie was a student at the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT).
“Way back in school when I went to the East for my university, I’m a bookworm,” May stated. “It’s always been about books for me. We didn’t meet at a party or any glamorous settings; we met at a GCE centre.” This revelation provides insight into the couple’s history, highlighting a connection rooted in shared academic pursuits. May characterized herself as an academically focused young woman during that period.
