The Commissioner of Police, Ojo Adekimi, warned that any vehicle found violating the directive would be impounded and subjected to thorough investigation in line with existing laws and procedures.
The command emphasized that no individual or organization would receive preferential treatment or exemption, regardless of status, position, or influence.
Advisory To Motorists
The command advised motorists to remove any covering or obstruction on their number plates and ensure that only valid, clearly visible registration plates are displayed at all times.
Vehicle owners were also urged to keep all documents current and readily available for inspection by law enforcement officers.
According to the statement, the exercise is a proactive security measure aimed at improving vehicle identification, enhancing criminal investigations, tracking fleeing suspects, and strengthening the overall security architecture of the state.
