Speaking at a political gathering in Kogi Local Council, Gegu described Bello as the architect of the state’s current political structure and a decisive factor in the APC’s continued dominance.

In a speech shared on his Facebook page, Gegu stated:
He dismissed social media criticism of a recent rally in Lokoja, clarifying that it was not a protest or power play, but rather an expression of gratitude to President Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for their leadership.

Gegu credited Yahaya Bello for laying the groundwork for political stability and federal visibility in Kogi State, noting that his influence cuts across all districts.
He argued that Bello’s political network remains central to the APC’s grassroots strength, warning that excluding him from key decisions could fracture party unity ahead of the 2027 elections.
