The Kebbi State Government has officially announced the appointment of Sanusi Muhammad Toga as the District Head of Sarkin Yamman Gwazange. This decision, along with the creation of four new villages within the Argungu Local Government Area, was revealed on Friday in Birnin Kebbi.
Garba Umar Dutsin-Mari, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, conveyed the announcement, stating that the actions were undertaken following a resolution passed by the Argungu Local Government Council. These measures are in accordance with the Kebbi State Local Government Law of 2008, demonstrating a commitment to structured and قانونی governance.
The newly established villages, namely Sarkin Yamman, Magaji Bela, Ubandawakin Wali, and Darakwai, represent a strategic expansion of the local administrative framework. The creation of the Sarkin Yamman Gwazange district, carved out of the Baraje District, is aimed at enhancing local administration and facilitating closer engagement between the government and the citizenry. This decentralization of authority is intended to improve the responsiveness of governance to the needs of the people.
Commissioner Dutsin-Mari urged the newly appointed District Head to prioritize justice, cultivate peace, and actively promote development within his jurisdiction. These directives underscore the government’s expectation that the new leadership will contribute positively to the social and economic well-being of the community. The appointment and creation of these new entities reflect the Kebbi State Government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen local governance and foster progress at the grassroots level.
