Kano State Governor Reaffirms Commitment to Security and Police Welfare.

Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has reiterated his administration’s dedication to supporting security agencies in safeguarding the lives and property of its citizens. This commitment was affirmed during a courtesy visit by Mrs. Elizabeth Kayode Egbetokun, wife of the Inspector General of Police and President of the Police Officers Wives Association (POWA).

Governor Yusuf emphasized the critical importance of security for the well-being and progress of the state. He pledged unwavering support for the police, including the provision of logistical resources and operational vehicles. Furthermore, the Governor acknowledged and commended Mrs. Egbetokun’s efforts in enhancing the welfare of police officers and their families, aligning with national initiatives for women’s empowerment.

In a tangible demonstration of this support, Governor Yusuf approved land allocation and financial assistance for the construction of a POWA Secretariat within Kano State. This initiative signifies the administration’s commitment to fostering a secure and prosperous future for the families of police officers serving the state. Mrs. Egbetokun, in turn, lauded the Kano State Government’s efforts in empowering women and advocated for strengthened collaboration to benefit POWA members.
