The cases were previously handled by Justice Emeka Nwite, who presided as a vacation judge during the Christmas period before they were reassigned to Justice Egwuatu.
Malami Also Facing DSS Prosecution
In addition to the EFCC cases, Abubakar Malami is also being prosecuted by the Federal Government through the Department of State Services (DSS) for alleged terrorism financing.
The withdrawal by Justice Egwuatu is expected to prompt the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court to reassign the cases to another judge for continuation.
