The appeal was made on Sunday by Malama Zeenatuddeen Ibraheem Zakzaky, wife of the IMN leader, Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky, during the closing ceremony of the 5th International Conference on Islamic Thought, themed “The State of Affairs and the Way Out.”
The three-day event, organised by the Sisters Forum and Academic Forum under Sheikh Zakzaky’s leadership, was held in Bauchi and attracted participants from Nigeria, Niger, Chad, and other African countries.
“Muslims Must Live By The Qur’an”
Zeenatuddeen Zakzaky urged Muslims to live strictly according to the teachings of the Qur’an and the traditions of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
She explained that the purpose of the conference was to remind believers of their responsibilities as Muslims.
“Peace Cannot Exist Without Justice”
Addressing global conflicts involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, Zeenatuddeen Zakzaky described the situation as a struggle between oppression and resistance.
She emphasized that peace and development cannot exist in a world that ignores injustice.
Advocacy For Justice And Sovereignty
According to her, the conference also aimed to raise awareness of the Islamic Movement’s objectives in Nigeria and strengthen opposition to global oppression, particularly against Palestinians.
She accused the United States and Israel of pursuing expansionist and self-interest policies, urging Nigerians to guard against foreign influence and protect national sovereignty.
Call For Interfaith Unity
Also speaking at the event, Dr. Fatima, a lecturer from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, said the conference was designed to promote justice and encourage resistance to oppression globally.
She called for unity among Muslims and Christians, stressing that silence in the face of injustice only worsens global suffering.
