Iran Executes Alleged Mossad Spy.

Iran’s judiciary announced the execution of Mohsen Langarneshin on Wednesday morning, accusing him of espionage on behalf of Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency. According to the official news agency Mizan, Langarneshin provided extensive logistical, technical, and operational support to Mossad from 2020.
He was further implicated in the May 2022 assassination of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Colonel Sayyad Khodai. The judiciary claims Langarneshin provided intelligence and surveillance that facilitated the killing, for which Israel reportedly claimed responsibility to the United States. He was also accused of aiding an attack on an industrial site in Isfahan linked to Iran’s Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces Logistics.
Iranian authorities cited “extensive intelligence and technical evidence” and a full confession from Langarneshin as justification for the execution. This event underscores the ongoing tensions between Iran and Israel and the severity with which Iran addresses perceived threats to its national security.

New Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) Established.

The 47th President of the United States has issued an executive order establishing the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). This initiative, outlined in a White House statement released Tuesday, aims to modernize federal technology and software to enhance governmental efficiency and productivity.
A key component of this reorganization involves the renaming of the United States Digital Service (USDS) to the United States DOGE Service (USDS), firmly positioning it within the Executive Office of the President. The executive order specifies that this agency will be integral to implementing the President’s “DOGE Agenda.”
Elon Musk, prominent entrepreneur and reportedly a key figure within DOGE, has commented on the initiative, stating his expectation of “meaningful progress every week.” The establishment of DOGE signals a significant shift in the administration’s approach to federal operations and technological infrastructure.

United States Withdraws from World Health Organization.

President Donald Trump has ordered the United States to withdraw from the World Health Organization (WHO), citing mismanagement of the COVID-19 pandemic and undue political influence. The order, issued shortly after his inauguration, alleges the WHO failed to act independently and imposed disproportionate financial burdens on the U.S. compared to other nations.
This move, effective in 12 months, will halt all U.S. financial contributions to the WHO. Experts warn the departure will jeopardize numerous WHO programs.
The executive order also suspends negotiations on the WHO pandemic treaty, recalls U.S. personnel working with the organization, and directs the government to seek alternative partners to assume essential WHO activities. This action echoes Trump’s earlier attempts to withdraw from the WHO in 2020, based on accusations of aiding China’s alleged misinformation campaign surrounding the origins of COVID-19, allegations the WHO has vigorously denied. The organization maintains its efforts to investigate the virus’s origin with transparency and data sharing.
