Inauguration of Pope Leo XIV Scheduled for May 18th, 2025.
Vatican City has announced the inauguration of Pope Leo XIV will be held on Sunday, May 18th, 2025, in St. Peter’s Square. The event will mark the official commencement of the pontificate of Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost, who was elected Pope on May 8th, 2025.
This election holds historical significance as Cardinal Prevost is the first American to lead the world’s 1.4 billion Catholics. His chosen papal name is Leo XIV.
World leaders are anticipated to attend the inauguration ceremony. Following the event, Pope Leo XIV will meet with members of the press on Monday, and with diplomatic representatives to the Holy See the subsequent Friday.
His first general audience is scheduled for Wednesday, May 21st, 2925. He will then meet with the Roman Curia on Saturday, May 24th, 2925. The DAILY POST has confirmed this significant appointment.
